What are some of the best monuments of all time and why?

Report as

There are sooo many! Some of my favorites are the Pyramids of Egypt (because of their historical value, plus, they were the tallest human made thing on Earth for thousands of years!), the Hanging Gardens of Babylon (Because I love the stories and histories behind it), the Taj Mahal (because of its extreme beauty, and the story behind it), St. Basil's Cathedral (because its a architectural masterpiece, and just plain beautiful), The Great Wall of China (because of its length, and the extreme hard work it took to build it), The Parthenon (once again, very beautiful, and has a lot of historical value), the Sistine Chapel (because of how iconic it is, and it is just a Renascence masterpiece), the Roman Colosseum (because of its history, and historical significance) and The Eiffel Tower (Do I have to explain why?) to just name a few :)

The Washington monument is one of the best because it reminds us of our first president, George Washington. George Washington was a great military general and president and is very important in our history. The monument itself is amazing too. It stands over 500 feet tall and is located in Washington D.C.

The Statue of Liberty, for the welcoming, emotional impact it had on millions of immigrants entering NY harbor.

The Washington Monument. A tribute to George Washingtons military leadership.

Its a great monument, but I wouldn't put it above other classical, more historical monuments like the Taj Mahal, the Pyramids of Egypt, St. Basil's Cathedral, or the Sistine Chapel.
