I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I too have had a few friends commit suicide. It's a terrible subject. I would like to believe there was some kind of salvation for them. Especially considering their ages. A sin is a sin. And "God" forgives. He forgives "anything". So I wouldn't see how this could be any different.
Keep your head up sweetie. You couldn't have saved him. Make sure you talk to someone!

Honestly, in a Christian view hanging yourself is a sin.

So is 8 million other things. Like judging people. You don't go straight to hell for those things.

I know, I don't believe in christianity myself. If I did I would be going to hell. xD I'm not sure if that comment was meant to be rude or just stating a fact honestly so I'm not trying to be rude with my comment either.

I think it was harsh. I've had several friends and some family commit suicide. And until you've been there, well I guess, that's probably where your attitude/comment came from.

But not unforgivable.

Christians do indeed believe that suicide is wrong. But, despite what non-religious people may say, we do not believe it automatically takes you right straight to hell. We believe that God forgives all sins (past, present, and future) once you are saved.

I have mixed feelings I believe it is a sin but i don't think that will send you straight to hell if he really believed in God then God should be there for him. Just pray to God and he will show you the way through this hard time and maybe tell you just ask him pray about and get into his word see if you can find the answers. I am sorry to hear about your loss my prayers are with you and your family and the child's family. If you ever need someone to talk to I am here just send me a comment!

PLEASE READ!:) There are a few examples of successful suicides in the Bible. Coming to mind is Samson, who killed himself and his Philistine captors who were mocking him.1 In this instance, Samson's prayer to God for strength in his last act seemed to be answered by God. However, the Philistines who he also killed were evil people. Another example is King Saul and his armor-bearer, who killed themselves as they were being overrun by the Philistines.2 A third example was Ahithophel, who hanged himself when it was clear that his advice to Absalom was not heeded, and that he would likely be killed by David as a traitor.3 Another example is Zimri, who usurped the throne in Israel for seven days, before Israel's army marched against him and he intentionally set the citadel on fire and died in the flames.4 Probably the most famous example was Judas, who after he had betrayed Jesus tried to give back the 30 pieces of silver, then went out and hanged himself.

Bible and Suicide: Although the issue of suicide is not directly addressed in the Bible, it does fall under the commandments of God - specifically, "you shall not murder."11 The Bible in Basic English translates the phrase, "Do not put anyone to death without cause." The Hebrew word used here is ratsach,12 which nearly always refers to intentional killing without cause (unless indicated otherwise by context). Since suicide is the intentional, premeditated murder of an individual, it would also be banned by the commandment. According to the Bible, murder (or suicide) is prohibited because humans are made in the image of God:

Conclusion: In conclusion, a true Christian who commits suicide will enter heaven. Being a true Christian means that one believes in Jesus Christ as Lord. Going up for an alter-call at some point in one's life without true belief does not make one a true Christian. However, a Christian should not want to thwart God's purposes by shortening his natural life through suicide. The Christian is to be propelled by love for one another,23 which cannot be expressed by killing one's self. At the natural end of one's life, we will be looking forward to the words of the Master:

"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!' (Matthew 25:23)

A kid in my grade hung himself in June. I go to a private catholic school and the morning everyone found out all the juniors went to the auditorium and the priest spoke and said that regardless the circumstances, he is in heaven not suffering anymore. God forgives all sins, or at least that's what they say. I'm so sorry for your loss. He's watching over you from heaven I promise. Just look for signs you'll see them.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Suicide is still a serious sin against God. According to the Bible, suicide is murder; it is always wrong. According to the Bible, suicide is not what determines whether a person gains entrance into heaven. If an unsaved person commits suicide, he has done nothing but "expedite" his journey to hell. However, that person who committed suicide will ultimately be in hell for rejecting salvation through Christ, not because he committed suicide.

Very sorry.
If he was a christian before he did it then yes he most likely will go to heaven. Its a sin like many others but not unforgivable and God knew his heart before he passed. If he didnt know God/Christ before he did it then no.

I'm sorry to hear that.. Truly..
I had a friend I played golf with regularly and he commited suicide with a shotgun...
I spoke with him several times about his salvation but he wasn't ready..
I would hope he made that decision ..
As to my understanding as to suicide.
I will hold my opinion in silence and pray for you to get through this..
God Bless

I'm a Roman Catholic Christian.
We commend all persons, who commit suicide, to the mercy of God, for whom nothing is impossible. We don't know what their final intention was, even if they left a suicide note. We do the same, for those persons, who did not receive Christian Baptism, before they died, such as, aborted babies; and those who were never told anything about God, or how He wanted them to live, so were never baptized. Mental illness can lessen or even eliminate one's culpability. Hope this helps. Frank

As a catholic, i was told that suicides go to hell, but i believe that if you are sorry, God will always forgive you. so if your friend felt even the slightest bit of remorse before he died, he went to heaven, or, at least, purgatory.
