Is 3 days too long to be at Universal Studios/ Islands of Adventure?

I have a family of four, no young children. We were going to go to Universal Studios/ Islands of Adventure in Orlando for two days, but it is only $55 more altogether for the four of us to go for three days. If you have been there for two or three days, do you think three days is too long? Would we be bored? Also, would you recommend going to both parks in the same day or one park each day? Thanks

Depends on what you like to do. I am guessing you will be riding roller coasters and movie experience rides, which is what we do.

Three days are good if plan on taking things easy. Since we had an off-site hotel near the entrance, we would ride a few rides in the morning, go back to our hotel for lunch and a siesta (or pool) during the high sun periods, and then went to the other park for more rides refreshed.

We did not try to do everything in one park in one day. Between the first two days we figured out what we liked and didn't like and spend the third day repeating rides we really enjoyed - and there were a lot. I highly recommend the Hulk roller coaster and the front car of Dueling Dragons.
