Hey, my ancient cronies... more help needed!

I just downloaded i-Mesh -- which is amazing, by the way -- but I'm drawing a blank as to good songs to download. Especially looking for classic rock from the 80's to make my commute more bearable. Hopefully we're not all having senior moments at the same time!

Omg, The B-52s were what got this started. There was a Q about why the human body didn't rust, and my brain just immediately thought LOVE SHACK! Tin Roof! Rusted! Thanks a TON!

Didn't XTC compose "Dear God"? That's a phenomenal song, containing so many hard questions that I played it for my catechism students, advising that they'd better come up with plausible answers, or never admit they're Christians in a mixed crowd. And it totally rocks!!

That's a pretty good comprehensive list you've got going on between everybody but I don't see Bad Company, Tom Petty, (with or without the Heartbreakers), Dire Straits, John Fogerty, The Talking Heads, or The Traveling Wilburys.

GOOD suggestions! I had gotten John Fogerty, but forgotten about the rest. I lost my internet connection in the middle of downloading tunes, so I was cranky all evening!
Report as
I hadn't thought of the Wilburys in ages but when I thought Tom Petty there it was.
Report as
I was amazed at all of the really good music I had forgotten. Don Henley's The End Of The Innocence is playing now. And of course no one mentioned Fleetwood Mac because they're really not "rock" per se, but I've got a lot of them downloading too.
Report as
Oh! Peter Gabriel! Mustn't forget the Peter Gabriel.
Report as
OOH! Good call!
Report as
And Jethro Tull. They continued making new stuff into the 80's and even the 90's. Ian Anderson is a breed of his own. Name another rock flutist icon.
Report as
FK, you are amazing! I'm going to ROCK OUT today during my trip to GR and back. The best part is, my ex likes this kind of music too, so maybe he'll stfu and I can concentrate on my driving!
Report as
I know it was the 70's rather than the 80's but since we've already mention John Fogerty I have to say CCR. You simply cannot listen to Creedence and be in a bad mood. I've tried. You just can't.
Report as
I got some CCR in there too. And Cyndi Lauper, and I just realized I missed Twisted Sister! And Night Ranger! This i-Mesh is so cool.... I still can't believe all the free tracks they have!
Report as
Also "Learning to Fly" and "On the Turning Away" by Pink Floyd, released in 1987 with David Gilmour after the departure of Roger Waters.
Report as
OMG.... Pink Floyd... I wore GROOVES in Another Brick in the Wall!
