Why Is The Amount of Money, A Candidate For President Spends Important?

I Got This In My Today:
We're getting beat and it's time to wake up.

The unlimited money ushered in by Citizens United means the right wing could outspend progressives 2 to 1 this election—and Romney's just out raised President Obama for the third straight month.1

Congressional Republicans sabotaged our economic recovery by crashing the debt ceiling and blocking every jobs measure put forward by the president. Republican governors drastically cut jobs, offsetting private sector job gains. Now Romney is blaming Obama for high unemployment.

Republicans passed Jim Crow style voter suppression laws that will disenfranchise millions of progressive voters, targeting low income folks, people of color, and the young.2

And the worst of it is—we're still asleep. Because despite all this, a Gallup Poll shows that Democrats are much less enthusiastic about voting than Republicans.3 That means we lose.

Your statement is spot on. We have fallen to become a nation that can now be bought by whoever wants it, and remember that includes money from outside the US. Our political system once was the model for the rest of the world now it is a point of humor outside the nation. Most Americans don't care about this country so long as they have their cable TV, iPhones, alcohol and guns they will be content. And the take over of this nation by foreign and domestic corporations is a slow process but the end result will be a nation of company's and consumers. Final note "Every nation gets the government it deserves."

@Grand. You missed the point completely. Do you honestly think this nation will change from its current course if Romney wins, or if Obama wins? If you do your not seeing the big picture.

It shouldn't be. But, in a perfect world that money could be put to better use.

Because people are sheeple and most vote based on campaign commercials which we all know are bastions of truth, honor and the American way... NOT

It's a problem when they are taking the taxpayers money for their own political interest groups. Being rich is not an evil thing. I wish I were! Obama is rich, but hates the rich? Makes no sense. And who is footing the bill for Michelle to be at the Olympics the entire time? You are!
