Can depression cause speech problems?

Ever since my depression started, it seems like I have some sort of speech problem every once in a while. Like, I have a hard time pronouncing words sometimes, other times I stutter a little bit, and I often switch around words in my sentences. And sometimes it seems like I get a little mentally flustered when under pressure from other people. People often comment on my pronunciation problems.

Does this happen to anyone else during depression?

It does sometimes to me.
But I ignore getting depressed, watch TV or read a book, listen to pop music or talk to a friend.
That'll help you with your pronunciation. You need to take a deep breath and read out your speech out loud a several times and just relax,it happens to everyone! :D

Oh and you can visit this site for correct pronunciation:

Not really. It's not proven; but, it's practical. If you're suffering depression, then certainly you stopped regularly communicating? Stuttering and lack of concentration (on pronouncing words) is definitely understandable. So it's normal.

I hope you regain happiness someday, I really do :)

There are no medical records which prove that depression can bring about speech problems. Depression is a medical condition results from abnormal functioning of the brain. You may consult a doctor for more information.

Not unless you have Aspergers.

Depression can cause reduced cognitive function and ability to deal with stress, but this sounds more than typical. I'd talk to your doctor, or if you're still in school, the school counselor or nurse would be a good place to start.
