Who is your favorite author, and why?

Mine would have to be Stephen King because he is so versatile in his writing. He can seriously scare the crap out of you, and make you cry all in the same book. I have always wondered where people get their creativity from.

Depends on my mood. For something romantic, Nicholas Sparks. Mystery James Patterson. Quick easy reads with a bit of romance and a bit of mystery Mariah Stewart.

Also Kathy Reichs. She writes the books that the TV show Bones was based off of. The books are a bit different than the show.

I dont really read a lot, not enough too have 1 author anyway, someone in my family is really happy about a new Stephen king book coming out though.

Same I love Stephan king I love his book he writes because each time i turn i feel like am in another world also the hunger games trilogy by suzanne collins because I feel like am katniss in hungry games fighting with peeta I can't stop reading them

Jodi Picoult i cried in Both of her books i read from her if she can make me cry laugh and scream in her boks she's my fav! lol

Stephen King. Great author, and brilliant man. I'm also gonna say Roald Dahl, because he's imaginative and I've loved him since I was a kid.

Kids books. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a famous one. James and the Giant Peach is good. And Matilda. They're great books. They all have movie adaptations too.

I used to read a lot, have these little floater things in my eyes, makes me dizzy to read now.

I loved this one book called "Marco's Millions" when I was in 4th grade. Everyone should read it. It was like a guy action book with cute little kids and I cried at the end. I <333 it soo much but I forgot who wrote it :'(

William Sleator is the author. I just looked it up on Wikipedia. It looks really good and I'm going to read it.

To me I can't single out a single author. Because each one takes me into another world that I love. I wanted to be a vampire when I read Twilight the series by Stephanie Meyer. Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling. Georgia Bying when I read the Molly Moon books. How can I select just one when they each showed me a different way to use my imagination!!! : )

Stephenie Meyer!!!!! I LOVE Twilight, but she also wrote a sci-fi book called The Host, and I love that book too.

Douglas Adams, writer of the "Hitchhiker's Guide" series. I love his off-the-wall humor, both in the wild ideas of his stories and the way he expresses them.

(But if Authorgirl asks, tell her I said SHE was my favorite author.)
