Art to me, is a way to escape your surroundings and to help you with your problems in life. It's peaceful, and it's exactly what lautnerlove98 said. She deserves more thumbs up than she has. That was a truly beautiful and excellent answer(;

I've been an artist ever since I was 6 years old, and it's my passion. It helped me control everything in life really. It made me find the other half of me that I was trying to find. I love it. As well as writing, and music(:

art to me is like a story teller when you create art you have a motive behind what ever you make! art tells a story to me like Vincent van gogh when he created art it told a story plus he wanted to make statement with his art...i'm poetic so when i write poetry it's a form of art that tells my story for me!

I like the quote "If it is art then it is not for all and if it is for all then it is not art". Art is subjective. We all like different things and in my opinion it has a lot to do with our life experiences. For example, I have traveled a lot and like landscape paintings and paintings depicting castles and other old structures because they remind me of my travels. I also like romantic sculptures and paintings beacause I grew up watching Franco Zefirelli's Romeo and Juliet. Unfortunatly, any kind of art that represents human struggles and pain catch my attention too because I have had to go through some tough things in my life. I also like poetry because in my opinion it is the best way to express emotion. Then of course, people can just be drawn to art because they feel a connection to the artist.
