Why do parents teach toddlers to walk and talk but when they grow up they want them to shut up and sit down?

Because the parents WANT to hear "Mama" and "Dada"... they don't want to hear, "Are we there yet?" "He's touching me!" "Mom, he took my i-Pod!"
