You can talk to them about it. It seems like a tricky situation. Let her know that it embarasses you. Whether it may be wrong or right, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Compromise by suggesting that when you are around her, she keep any negative or racist thoughts to herself. Good luck, and don't stop fighting for what you think is right. :-) -S-
Tell her how you feel. Say that it is the 21st century! Racism is no longer AS COMMON AS IT USED TO BE. Of course, it will always be there in people, but you need to remind her that we are all people...we can't choose to disrespect one group of people because they are minorities or different. Show her that everyone is equal! Hope I helped :)
Dont worry about it, theres not a lot you can do. But never take her side :) and soon she will start keeping her remarks to her self. I can imagine they are just harmless remarks - which unfortunately we are used to old people having them
i am sorry to hear about that. just keep telling her that you don't wish to hear that racism in your presence. when you have your own children, her words will be even more annoying to you if you feel that her words will also influence your children's attitudes.
That's just your mom.... And that's the way she feels as long as you know it's not a good thing to be that way and it's pure evil to do that just let it be ... Tell your friends the truth and keep being who you are and break the cycle of hate and you should be fine
