How do I explain things shorter?

Well I was helping out at freshman orientation at my high school and I've noticed I explain things way too much. How do i stop that cause I lose focus?

Be brief and to the point. Don't add a lot of descriptions and explanations just for the sake of being wordy and talkative. Focus on the subject.

You can try listing or noting the main points in what you are trying to explain. Stick to these points and make sure you don't go beyond them. Ask the person if they have grasped what you just said; if they have, then you've done your job, but if they haven't, try looking for a simpler, shorter way of explaining it.

Give yourself a couple of seconds to plan your response rather than impulsively blurt. Try taking a deep breath first. This may relax you enough to take things slow and keep things brief.
