I'm underweight, should I try to gain a few pounds?

I am 13. I weigh 98 pounds and I am around 5'3". I have always been skinny, but not too skinny. I eat a lot, but never seem to gain any weight..

Dont worry ur really healthy because our generation is a lot fatter then our parents generation back in the 70's,80's wen our were like kids or teens most ppl wen they were 18 would weight about 120 pounds so your really healthy

Nah, nobody was ever looked down on cuz they were too skinny.

Thats because you have a fast metabolism which means you burn off calories faster. If you want to try to gain a few pounds do whatever makes you comfortable but you should be confident either way and feel good about the way you look.

Well, if u WANT 2 gain a few pounds, go 4 it. But if u like the way u look, then stay the same. But if u DO want 2 add a little bit of weight, don't put on too much cuz sometimes it can b a bit hard 2 get back off.

Eat a ton of bacon and hohos. Or put bacon on them! Then put cheese on it!

According to your Body Mass Index (BMI) you would be classified as underweight. I would strongly recommend you gain some weight because being underweight can cause some severe health problems. You run the risk of losing your period, infertility, anemia, and all sorts of health problems.

My family and I went through this with my sister, although her being underweight was intentional on her part. It can be a serious health issue. I would encourage you to so some research on it and even talk to your doctor about it.

If you are eating healthy then you are fine. Do not force yourself, and do not start eating junk. Bad habits are difficult to break. Do mild sports- that way you will gain some muscle and put on a few pounds

Even so, you are only 13. Believe me your body will change a lot in the next 4-5 years. Do not force your body and as I told you try to eat healthy. Believe me in a few years you will be so happy that you are naturally thin.
