Being a farmer, I have to have guns on the premises. I need to be able to shoot predatory animals who threaten my livestock, or be able to put an animal out of its misery if something should happen to it (the nearest vet is at least half an hour away). Aside from that, living alone, I like the peace of mind that comes with knowing that I can defend myself if need be... and I have drawn a gun on an intruder before. I also enjoy venison, and feel that hunting is not only a good way to get meat for the freezer, but effective population control to help the deer herd.

I like guns
People think if it's harder to get guns, it will be harder to "kill people" with them. But what they don't know is, by limiting access to guns, we are just keeping the people who use them correctly from getting them. If a criminal wants a gun, or to kill someone, they will find a way to get the gun, or kill a person without a gun. But you can't tell anti-gun people this.

I think they hate guns due to the high criminal activity, most of them use guns to commit crimes and this makes people(some of them) that anyone who owns a gun could be planning a crime wich is generally true not all the time but i'd say it is in like 90% of all cases.
It doesn't matter how many laws get put in place.Criminals don't go to a gun store to buy guns.
I support gun rights 100%. Guns are a great way of self defense as long as you use them correctly and responsibly. Think of it as a tool instead of a weapon. Consider the shooting in the movie theater in Colorado. If someone would have had a concealed weapon on them they could have shot that maniac and saved like 10 lives of innocent people.
Partly because many people aren't truly educated about guns. Also I think part of the problem is our society has become overly fearful of things that can hurt you. I read study awhile back about how we are safer as a society today than at any other time, but we are also more fearful.
Well in the "Great" Commonwealth of Virginia, its fairly easy to buy a gun.
True story, I walked into a gun store, and walked out 2 hours later with a handgun with ammo and everything. Now I support gun rights, but I think that not everyone needs to own a gun. Virginia is now trying to pass a law (I haven't check on it lately) but this would allow everyone allowed to carry it concealed, when normally your required to apply for a license to do that (which means you could walk around with a loaded gun hidden).
I know that to a criminal it don't matter. Problem I have is there are a lot of DUMB people out there. Being in the army for a few years now, there are accidental discharges (people firing their loaded weapons on accident). If this happens with a someone trained on weapons, than an uneducated civilian would be worse.
The best form of gun control would be education, even if its mommy or daddy showing you that guns don't kill, but stupid action/people kill, and cops/military/criminals kill too
Yes we all know that guns don't kill people, people kill people, BUT guns make it a LOT easier to kill people! Haha they're fine when they sit somewhere at home & are owned solely for the protection of your home, but then there are always nuts who wanna shoot up movie theaters. So I think people really are just trying to prevent mass shootings. But Cjkenkel's right, ^^ because crazy people are probably gonna get a gun either way. Although I don't think it's right that a guy can so easily get ahold of a gun in which its SOLE purpose is to kill a bunch of people in a small amount of time. I mean, we KNOW that that surely can't be for hunting, and definitely isn't necessary for JUST self defense! I think it'd be best that someone's record & mentality is checked before they're able to get a lethal weapon. Guns may not get up & kill people all on their own, but when you shoot, you shoot to kill. The sole purpose of a gun is to kill, really.
Honestly, I am not Anti gun and im happy tht im not anti gun! I think if you use it wisely and don't goof off with it then its all good. When im old enough i will be getting a gun license and would like to get a pistol! :)
