do cats purr because they like being petted or they don't like being petted?
When a cat purrs, it shows contentment, whether being petted or not. They may also nip at you but to them, this is also more or less a 'love-bite'. They will show the first signs of displeasure by putting their ears back. Hope this helps
i think its cause they like being petted im not sure ive always been a dog person
Because they like it. If they didn't like it they would hiss and scratch.
They're enjoying it :)
