When you're new to driving, your chances of having an accident are much higher than most drivers. However, most young drivers manage to avoid it, and most accidents are fairly minor. Just stay alert, and practice on quite streets the first few times you go out. Remember, speed kills. Low speed accidents are usually fairly harmless.
Some tips for Drivers Ed are familiarizing yourself with the course and studying the manual and understanding it. Other tips are asking for references and knowing where the instructor stops at when collecting students. Read more details at http://www.dmv.org/me-maine/drivers-ed.php.
