Why does the TX Rangers announcer guy say the names like "Michael..... Young!" ?

Just saw the game (what a close call!), and I've always wondered why he pauses between the first and last name.

It is hard to establish why TX Rangers announcer guy pronounces Michael Young with a pause between the first and last name. It could be that he wants to create attention to the people listening to him or make the name sound interesting and funny.
