What's the probability of being hit by lightning? And is it true that...?

Is it true that if you've been hit once, you are more likely to be hit again? Because I've heard that there's a greater chance of you being hit by lightning twice than just once.

Is any of that true?

The odds that you will be struck by lightning at some point in your lifetime are 1/300,000. If you've been hit by lightning once, you are more likely to be hit again. This can be due to factors such as hobbies. An example if you are a golfer, you are more likely to be hit by lightning because there are many trees around and you tend to carry a metallic lightning rod around with you.....

The probability of being hit by lightening is one in a million. This is because there are millions of people on the earth. Lightening had been known to hit the same place twice though that is not a common occurrence. Your interests can lead you to where there is enough electrical charge in the clouds to release lightening on you again.

Depending on the year & other variables the chance of being struck varies from 3000 to 5000 to 1 in your lifetime & the chances of being killed by lightning are roughly 2,650,000 to 1, in the army I knew a guy that had been struck twice, needless to say, nobody want to be anywhere near his tent at night
