When children disobey, they pay for it one way or the other and we move on don't we? They are still our children, right?

I understand the point you are trying to make in your many questions but the fact us this...
God gave humans free will and a choice: Him or Not Him. There are consequences for each very clearly defined by God. Technically i suppose we are all 'His children' but He is firm in that He expects us to choose Him and His son and live accirding to His word. If you dont purposefully choose Him and instead choose to live a life outside His will then you will not go to be with Him at the end.
The term 'Children of God' is most often used to describe true believers who have chosen Him and accepted His free gift of grace thru the sacrifice of His son and try to live according to His will.

Yes, the only way they will learn is from their mistakes. How you teach them from that is your responsibility.

For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. Proverbs 3:12

God corrects us and forgives us as well when we are truly sorry and ask Him to. And, we need to stop repeating it. Much the same way that we try to teach our own children. And, yes, sometimes our children pay in one way or another because disobedience has consequences, there is an effect that follows disobedience, some worse than others. But, our children are still ours, yes. And, we are still God's children but we cannot continue to wilfully sin forever. He is gracious, much like we parents are. Although He makes the rules, not us. But, He does give us His Grace to help us follow them.

Not if you have faith in the bible and read Dueteronomy 20:18-21. In that case you join the men of the city in stoning them to death.
