I think home-grown terrorists are our biggest threats at the moment. There is so much unrest in this country that I believe that the fringe element is getting ready to make another "statement" similar to Oklahoma City.

Not all terrorists are/were affiliated with Al Qaeda. I worry more about the "lone wolf" nut cases floating around loose out there. The odds of becoming a victim of one is low though. You are more likely to be killed by someone you know in a domestic situation, or by a random act of violence, than by a terrorist.

If you're talking about terrorism in general, that is still going on. Just look at the Colorado theater shoot up. If you're talking about radical Muslim terrorism, than yes, but only a little bit... I heard there is some sort of Muslim holiday going on in which radical Muslims don't kill for awhile. I only heard that once, though.
The most dangerous terrorists in the US currently are right-wing extremists like the guy who killed 6 people at the Sikh temple last week, and the so-called "sovereign citizens" who have engaged in shootouts with police on several occasions recently.

Our country is vast. Many states have different demographics. Any person who becomes deranged or is influenced by militants of one form or another can become terrorists. The individual terrorist is the hardest to detect.
