That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

As Believers and Followers of
J e s u s Christ of Nazareth,
The Downturn Economy
Is Not in Control; The
Bountiful Economy
Of Heaven Is In
Full Control,
At Every
Level.
----------------------------------------
Scripture Quote
----------------------------------------
Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let
Him be your example in humility:] Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which
make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly
grasped or retained, But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity],
so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience
to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted
Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth, And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of
God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11 AMP)

Paul quotes Homer's reference to the pantheon, saying no god is as great as Jesus. It's important to the Church because Christians believe Jesus was YHWH incarnate and that there are no gods as great as YHWH.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. He points to Christ as the example of humility and consecration to the good of others.

Jesus is in fact "LORD"
It also gives us one of many references to the attitude and mind of Christ that we also as "bond servants"
Must try to immulate.
