What would you do if someone was stealing to help you without your consent? Please read details

ok, this is What I'm talking about. I work at Walmart. we do price matching (if another store has something cheaper, we sell it at their price) when I check out, this person will price match almost everything I buy! one item was over a $5 difference! I'm sure all the stuff isn't on sale! I never said that anything was on sale, she just did it. I'm not even friends with her either. I will not check out with her anymore, but should I tell management? I appriciate it, but if the stuff isn't on sale, she's stealing, so I don't know what to do!

Do the right thing. Take your receipt and show the manager. Stealing effects everyone, right down to the prices that the honest people pay.

What the heck?! I don't know why all these people think this is okay...

I have never done a price match and I avoid walmart. I prefer supporting small local buisness when ever possible. Not a very "friendly neighborhood" ploy walmart is initiating to begin with.

I think she`s only doing what the store already allows, but if it makes you uncomfortable dont check out with her anymore.. Walmart is the biggest chain on the planet so I wouldn't worry about their finances

Yea they allow it IF another stores add has that item is on sale!

Besides, Walmart's finances have nothing to do with it, it's an integrity issue!

Im not sure but I think the price match thing is accurate otherwise it would not happen (I never worked a till very well) or not come up as being a cheaper price. anyway just avoid her because it makes you uncomfortable. I would talk to her about it before i would approach the management.

This is confusing! So, lets say you check out with a cart full of items, she discounts every item, whether you ask or not, and the items aren't even things that can actually be matched to other stores? She's just discounting everything?
If you are concerned don't go to her checkout any longer.
I can't say if she's wrong, so it's best to avoid the situation if it makes you uncomfortable.

Not every item, but a lot!

That is bizarre, considering she doesn't know you I wonder what her motivation is.
Do you get employee discount ?
Here is how I would approach it.. Ask another employee what the rules are involving discounts, matching prices etc. She might not be doing anything wrong. You could always speak to a manager and mention the discount, ask how it works. This way they know what's going on if it's anything bad. She can't get in trouble if she's following policy.

Don't snitch!! Everyone needs their job. Walmart will find out on their own. They don't need u to tell them. Besides u r just as guilty for doing it more than one time. Lol and I'm sure u didn't stop her or say stop. .. Let it go

I didn't notice till after I checked out and I never said I checked out with her more than once. Others are saying what you said, that they'll find out sooner or later!

In the retail business, this is called "sweet hearting" People have done it at my work and have gotten caught. It's the exact same thing as stealing. You and your friend can stop doing it immediately, or you can keep doing it, and get caught. Then, you will be faced with immediate termination, a stiff fine, and even jail time on top of the fine. It's your choice. I've worked at my job for 22 years, and have never stole in anyway shape or form. It's not that hard to not take, what's not mine.

If I continue checking out with her, then that would be stealing! My question was should I tell management?

That's really up to you. If you do decide, bring all the stuff back that she marked down for you

Cashiers are responsible to price match even if the customer does not have the ad. It seems she is one of the few doing her job.

Here is an answer from another website that may help. Probably you should mention it to a floor manager.
'No, they do not. (match every item) And as far as food flyers, unless you have the EXACT product, they will not match it. I mean right down to the exact ounces. I was a cashier at Wal Mart for a short time and they made sure you remembered this little tidbit each and every night before you hit that register.
As far as other product, no, they are too money hungry to go that far with their stores.'
