Why are flags at half mask today

Report as

The United States Flag is flown at half staff today and every December 7th in observance of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the soldiers we lost that day. The original attack on Pearl Harbor happened on December 7, 1941 by the Imperial Japanese Navy in an effort to keep the U.S. from preventing what the Japanese were planning against Southeast Asia, the U.S, Britain and the Netherlands.
