It is only good if you are intending to attend college & would like academic scholarships. It is a shame that most 14 year old home school students are better prepared for college than high school graduates. I always hear this well your children won't know how to act around others. WHAT! My boys play football, wrestling, baseball, as well as riding MX, sailing as well as chorus etc. At first it was a little difficult because they didn't know their teammates, because they didn't attend the schools. Fortunately, my children have manners & can conduct themselves as gentleman. They have no problem sticking out their hand & introducing themselves. Sadly most other children respond with hey, yo or a nod of the head. they have a blast & enjoy the fact that they can learn in 2 or 3 hours, at least a days worth of public school curriculum. Where I live it has become so popular that it really seems to be the norm..
Good unless the reasons you're doing it are so that you can "protect" your child from the real world....I've met many kids who have been homeschooled that end up suffering when they go off on their own because they don't know how to relate to the "real" world. If you're going to homeschool make sure they have plenty of opportunities to meet kids their own age....recreational sports, clubs, groups.....
I think that it is the craziest thing! You have to go threw school! It gives you so much exprence! For some people I understand it because they some some disability or something but otherwise stay is school!!
As far as educating goes, it's good. But the experience of school is in no way able to be duplicated at home. Interacting with friends, students, and teachers, experiencing different things with people, the whole social aspect of it. Can't get that with home school, and it's almost as important as the subjects you learn.
Disagree with homeschool. High school is such fun and going to the Prom is great. You get to meet all sorts of people and learn alot of life lessons. You can be social, join clubs, play sports and be a well rounded person.
I think it is a fantastic thing because children are able to learn a good deal more. You can have a social life and be home schooled. There are all sorts of groups that you can be part of and not have to go to school for.
