How does the Setting in a story best advance the theme?

My little brother is doing a homework assignment for the story Lamb to the Slaughter...the setting starts out in a calm environmant... it says things like how the room was warm and clean, or something about a smiling air... how does this setting represent innocence as a theme?

The Point of View advances the story theme, in that it helps the reader understand the story. It also advances the story, by making clear points of the subjects and highlights of the story.
