Dachshund growth chart?

I recently got a doxie from a 'breeder' she wasn't in the best of condition, flea scabs etc, but has had vet attention.(He tells me she doesnt appear to be underweight or anything ). Is there a growth chart or a breeder that would know the appropriate size she should be? I want to determine weather she is a standard size, or if she is a miniature. She is eight weeks old, weighs about 1.5-2 pounds right now. She was NOT the runt (Actually one of the larger pups)

There doesn't seem to be any Dachshund growth chart. However, there are calculators. You can use this to calculate you expected dog's weight depending on her age. http://www.puppyweights.com/Minature-Dachshund/196/ will help you figure out her expected weight.

The breeder should have allowed you to see the parents; their size will be a good indication of how big the puppy will be eventually. If you didn't see the parents, call the breeder and ask if they're standard or miniature. For future reference, it's always a good idea to see and even interact a little with the parents so you'll get an idea of how the breeder treats his/her dogs and what kind of environment the puppies are raised in.

The parents 'werent available' she did not come from reputable breeders. This I know now. I did report the people for the condition of the puppies, they werent starving, but I rather be safe then sorry. They didnt have the answers to many questions I had, Including her birthdate. My vet estimates her to be between 6-8weeks.

Ah, experience is a good teacher! I hope this puppy turns out to be good, healthy pet for you to have. Good thing you reported the breeder (and now I understand what you put it in quotation marks). Sounds like she has a good home with you.

I am confident she will be okay :) My vet thinks that she will make out alright.
