What does 'Cheshire' mean?

In know the Cheshire Cat is invisible and has a big smile. Then I was listening to 'For You' by Bruce Springsteen and one of lyrics had Cheshire in it. So I don't know if he was saying big smile or invisible smile. Thanks so much. =]

Cheshire is a county in England... I am not sure what the reference in a Bruce Springsteen song could be, though it could be an illusion to the character in Alice in Wonderland

Now I feel really stupid. . . I wondered why it had to be capital. Do you know if Bruce Springsteen was British or had something to do with it because he said something about the girls Union Jack. Maybe the girl was from there. . Anyway thanks so much!! =]

Cheshire (pronounced /?t????r/ CHESH-?r); also known, archaically, as the County of Chester) is a ceremonial county in North West England. The traditional county town is the city of Chester, although Cheshire's largest town is Warrington. Other major towns include Congleton, Crewe, Ellesmere Port, Widnes, Runcorn, Macclesfield, Winsford, Northwich, and Wilmslow. The county is bordered by Merseyside and Greater Manchester to the north, Derbyshire to the east, Staffordshire and Shropshire to the south, Flintshire and Wrexham in Wales to the west.

Cheshire's area is 2,343 square kilometres (905 sq mi) and its population is just over a million. Apart from the large towns along the River Mersey and the historic city of Chester, it is mostly rural, with a number of small towns and villages that support an agricultural industry. It is historically famous for the production of Cheshire cheese,[ salt, bulk chemicals and the weaving of silk.
