Why do so many people teach their kids that "stupid" is a bad word, even if it's being used when talking about an unreasonable rule?

Same with the words "hell" and "God", even when you're talking about church subjects

Cause it sounds uneducated when a little boy or girls says that's stupid i swear it frustrates me and makes me want to yell at the stupid kid for saying it's stupid. Kids these days think there so cool and old when there becoming little stupid jerks

Because children do not understand the meaning of context. It is easier to tell a child not to use a word at all instead of saying you can't use it to describe people but you can to describe other things.

I don't feel stupid is a bad word compared to some other words I have heard. I guess if you feel that parent should stop kids from saying the word, good luck on stoping the other words.

ok iam a parent who does not want my child running around saying stupid. I am not a "wuss" or. nor do I want my kids to be "WUSS" There are quite a few words I don't want my kids to say like gay, stupid, dumb, ect. one I don't want them to walk around saying that's gay or that's stupid. or them calling people stupid. its rude and just plain ignorant. Its not ok to make other people feel bad. My 8yr old is dyslexic and people have called him stupid and it makes him feel horrible about himself. He's not stupid he just learns a different than other people. Those are the reasons why I teach my children not to use those words.

to be honest I don't like the word at all. there are so many other words they can use than "stupid". And how can I say its ok if you say that car looks stupid but you can't say your sister is stupid. do you see what I mean? They are kids and don't know how to differentiate. So we don't allow stupid to be said in our home.
