For a 17 year old driver, the insurance companies normally charge more than they charge adults by 50% to 100%. This is because people under 20 are considered inexperienced no matter the results in driving. Get more of these details on http://www.ehow.com/about_5415688_average-cost-car-insurance-yearolds.html

Just to give you an idea, I bought my son a 2011 truck for his 16th birthday. My insurance went from $117 a month to $338 a month. This was the cheapest I could find and he's a good student as well.

You bought him a brand new truck for his 16th birthday? You have too much money.

It was used. 10,000 miles on it.

And any money I have is because his dad died. I'd much rather have his dad back than any amount of money. :(

17, male and a new sports car.. I hope you have a job that pays well because it's going to be ridiculously expensive.
