What good does it do you to lock your door when thieves will just break a window and go in your car/house?

Locking your door makes it tougher to get in. The noise from breaking a window and climbing through broken glass may be the dicision should i take the chance of getting caught. They may just move on to a easier target

If you leave it unlocked insurance might not cover your losses. It they break out the window first then unlock the door you have valuable seconds to use to your behalf

If you leave it unlocked and find you've been robbed YOU better break the glass...

Conmah, that is false reporting and could buy you a felony. Experienced cops can usually tell when it happened

At least it makes it a bit more difficult for them than simply leaving the door unlocked...

True, but it makes it a little tougher for the crooks, & gives folks a sense of security

I've been sayin this for years - "Locks only keep honest people honest"
I don't lock my doors unless I'm goin out of state
I don't lock my car doors unless I feel as though the area warrants it

Oh, it's like this...I lock the door for THEIR protection. If they're crazy enough to bust in my door, they will eat a bullet.
