Child pornography is a disgusting, morally wrong sin. So why are there public nudists camps all over the states?

adults are frequently arrested for looking at photos of naked children on the Internet - yet there are so many public nudist camps everywhere where these depraved people can go ogle the naked children all day long. Shouldn't nudist camps be against the law?

There is absolutely no connection between child pornography and sun clubs. God made EVERYONE naked - are you suggesting that someone should make that illegal? Pornography is already illegal, which is fine. Sun clubs ARE legal because they are a safer place to take your children than many of the churches. Go to a nudist club and if you find even one depraved person there, I will buy you an ice cream.... Nakedness is how you were born - how God intended you to look. It has nothing to do with depravity or sexuality - that is what happens between your ears. Please don't be afraid of the way you were born. And please don't judge others on their lifestyles without walking a mile in their moccasins. A day of seeing naked people is about as boring as you could ever imagine - certainly not titillating....

Sounds like you know a lot more about it than I do. But the depravity starts with the visual- otherwise, why are there so many magazines like Playboy for men to just ogle naked women, and why do these bars rake in money by having nude waitresses for the men to ogle? Looking at nakedness turns them on, so it would stand to reason that being present in nudist camps would accomplish the same end- turning on the depraved people. ?

All of what you say is true, except that 'nudist camps' are so different, you can barely imagine what it is like. When our girls were 7 and 8, a friend took us to a Sun Club just to see if we liked the idea. Fifty acres of unspoiled country, a giant swimming pool and extensive camping facilities for families to stay over their holidays. Amy and I enjoyed picking blackberries in our 'club uniform' - self-awareness is picking fruit in a bramble bush! The kids loved playing with new friends of similar ages - always under the supervision of two Committee members. With everyone naked, there was nothing of any great interest. Anyone who might have had a sexual response would have been instantly embarassed - except it never happened. Eventually our kids got to be teenagers and were so shy about their changing bodies, we dropped out and went gliding. Any adult who was less than acceptable lost their Membership instantly, but that was a very rare occurrence. Many European people lived there permanently and they had been nudists all their lives. Seriously - at a Sun Club there are no perverts or voyeurs. The cities where sex is sold as entertainment is disgusting and needs regulation. But I understand your sensitivities and can only reassure you that there really isn't a problem to be distressed over in any Sun Club.

I think it should be against the law because it is so gross, when you are looking for something on google you might accidentaly click on that.

Obviously you have no clue what a nudist camp even IS. It is not about sex, you won't see men walking around with boners.. and if someone does they are asked to please leave. It is a lifestyle that the people who partake in it feel is natural. We in the US are pretty closed minded about nudity, go to the beach in MANY countries and topless women and total nudity is not uncommon. There is nothing shameful about the human body and it is only sexual to show it when people force that idea on their populace. (and No I am not a nudist but I have many friends who are, and trust me their children are safer than the ones in the catholic church were)

I never have been, nor would ever go, to a nudist camp. (ugh!) you are saying there are countries where it is common for people to be nude in public? Including kids, teens & all? No disagreement about the nudist camps not supposed to be sexual institutions, but that there are many people arrested for looking at naked children on the Internet--and they've got a free show at nudist camps-- they can stare & dream all they want- so yes, I think it is wrong to have them because of the sickos who also go there.
Report as
But they don't "get to stare all they want" people who are caught staring or leering at anyone in these camps are forced to leave. So your argument is invalid, you don't like it cause it makes you uncomfortable and bothers your upbringing that says nudity is "nasty, sexual and wrong". Don't force your ideas on others. If you don't like nudist camps... don't go.

You know one of the very ideas of nudist movement were to take away the immoral lust about human body that you described!! So, they are not to blame for heinous immoralities that goes on in the society.

Well, Pios, they're not doing a real good job of it. You're man, do you enjoy looking at Playboy mags? If so, why? Do you frequent bars where the waitresses are nude? Why? Isn't it a visual turn-on for you? Us women don't get a lot of jollies looking at naked men but the "beauty contests" held every year verify the males's interest in naked or near naked bodies. They get a free show at nudist camps!

Anyone like that wouldn't be able to get admission to a nudist club. Entrance standards are unbelievably stringent. Family groups, couples are generally O.K., but single men or even single women have to have a compelling reason to be admitted. If everyone is naked, there is big deal for anyone. Oh - and partial nudity is not allowed, for very good reason.

Keatron: did you know there are several nudist churches in US? Where members are to be naked to get entry to the church? Are they to be blamed too for those crimes then? Just asking?
Report as
Pious, I would hope you are kidding about naked churches but don't know why anything going on in this world would surprise me! I guess I am too naive. And old-fashioned. Maybe the less I know, the happier I would be!
Thanks for the enlightenment on the subject! :)

I definitely am not kidding with you keatron. There are as many as 63 nudist churches in USA alone as of today and most of them are orthodox. Why don't you google it?

Because there is nothing immoral or wrong with nudity. It's these weirdos and most religions that put stigma, sexualism and shame on childhood and adult nudity. That's like banning the internet because they use it to get pictures. Or like banning Catholicism because thats how they get to the kids.

Ok but please read my comment to pious666 and tell me if you disagree with what I've said? Where in the world is there not any emphasis put on naked bodies?
Report as
In the world, yes. In a sun club, no. When everyone is naked, there is no prurience at all, because you would give yourself away immediately. I got involved because you lumped sex clubs together with sun clubs - please understand there is absolutely no similarlity whatsoever between those institutions!!
Report as
No I don't agree, does that mean you agree with me, if we're bannin nudist colonies, we better ban the Internet and the catholic church as well!
Report as
Ok, thank you both, Dr.Brian & Mcolston, I can agree with you that I had the wrong idea about it all, it just seemed logical but since I've never been to a sun club, guess I was way out of bounds! Sorry!
