Why would you want to be like your brother? Don't change who you are to please someone else. Just be you. Why be a copy of your brother, when you can be an original you? (That's something my therapist used to say to me. Except i wanted to be like my sister)

@madmarcus haha yay cool! Lol. No but it is a very intense little topic right? I mean, I even just saw a commercial for dandruff, and there were girls that were playing the little se.x symbols and basically taking care of his dandruff got him these girls.... It was pretty dumb! anyway yea.... I think too much haha.

I agree whole heartedly! Mom should raise their children to be gentlemen, and girls to be ladies. Men shouldn't view women that way, but women should not conform. Just cause women are viewed a certain way, doesn't give them a right to act that way. I kinda watch those commercial and think girl, you're sleezy! And guy, you're a pig.

I don't think it matters who the start of it is honestly. Women are to blame for it just as men are, but there has to be an idea before you can conform to it. Some women are masognist even, but either way, both are to blame. Lol what are YOU trying to say Marcus? I thought we were in agreement for a second there :P

I'm not sure how I feel about this, but here's something to think about: though girls make themselves sex symbols and guys make themselves pigs over it, girls are also VIEWED as sex symbols and guys are VIEWED as pigs... People think being sexy is good and being a pig is bad; so that brings men waaaay down in some people's minds. I'm not making a point, just giving some thought.

I did have to re-read what you were saying and process it for a second, and I see what you're trying to say, but I don't think people always view being a pig as bad. Sometimes it seems glamorized to me and people joke about it.
Idk maybe we ought to just agree to disagree. I don't think all men are pigs, nor all girls are sleezy, just society as a whole from what I see seems very male-dominate.

I think we agree for the most part-like on your second comment- men need to be respectful and women need to be ladies and that the problem arises from men in their lustful desires they project on women and then women conforming.
My personal belief is what I said just now, and the fact that women have always been care takers, home makers, and house wives while men went to college and provided, is another for sexism. Some men think women are inferior for these tasks.
Anyway where we disagree I think is the fact that we live in a male-dominated society with lost of sexism and misogyny.-I mean, as kids, we didn't notice it, but there is sexim even in Disney movies! (I love Disney anyway though, use to bug me) sexim is in the media primarily, and quite a bit on the work place. Sometimes, at school. Women get employed by looks in some jobs, and it's illegal, but lots of women are still getting paid less.
Idk, I love your passion, I'm quite a passionate person as well if you can't already tell (lol) I'm just worried I sound frigid and bitter. It doesn't bug me as much anymore, (until I see those degrading commercials) it's just an unforante fact of our culture that probably isn't going to change. It's society as a whole, a lot of men and boys aren't like this. My cousins, friends, past bf's, brother, and you are all very respectful towards women. I don't have a grudge towards men promise :P even some women are sexist it seems agains their own gender, so it's not just men.
