Current cats terrified of new cat?
Yesterday my mother and I brought home a new cat Mama, the mother to our youngest cat Sophie. Now today we brought her to the vet for a checkup she is healthy besides being overweight. My mother made the mistake of letting Millie and Sophie my current cats meet Mama today. Mama was fine with them just hissed and growled a few times. However Sophie and Millie hissed, growled, and ran off crouched down and are now terrified of her. Unless Mama is in my mothers room and not in the cat room(where we had Mama) they are not comfortable enough to leave my room. Now I know that
my mother made a huge mistake in letting the cats meet so early, however it is her house and I don't have too much of a say in things(I am a college student living at home). My question is if introduced properly do you think these girls all spayed will be able to eventually get along?
Millie-8 years old
Sophie-1 year and 5 months
Mama-1 year and 10 months
I have experience with cats as I work with them at a cat rescue however I have never dealt with having more than 1 or 2 cats in my home before.
