Im not allowed to play matches for school until i drop 38lbs is that unfair?

Report as

In another question, you stated that you are extremely unfit at the moment. If you're overweight and unfit, it really wouldn't be fair to the rest of the team for you to play since you might not be able to keep up with the more fit players.

Your school could also be concerned about your health and not want you to over exert yourself while at your present weight.

If they let you practice with the team, and you eat healthy (as was suggested in that other question I mentioned), that 38 pounds should come off fairly easily. Also do a little weight training to help build muscle, which burns calories faster.

im overweight and have trouble running but i should still be allowed to play

Pretend for a moment that you are one of your other teammates. You are fit and can run the full pitch, keeping up with the others, etc. Your coach lets a non-fit person play in the matches. Because that non-fit person can't keep up, there is a huge hole in both offense and defense. Because of that hole, the other team wins easily.

How would you feel about the unfit teammate and the coach who let them play? I think you'd be really upset that you had been taking care of yourself but your team is losing because of someone who hasn't been.

As for exercising, you don't have to start out running. Walking is just as good exercise. Start out walking around your block (if it's safe to do so). Put on a CD and dance around your room or march in place to the beat. You might be able to find a Leslie Sansone walk at home DVD in your local library - she's great!!

Well it is something of a contact sport maybe they don't want you to hurt the other kids. Or maybe yur coach wants you to be in better shape before you run that much. Maybe hes worried about your health? Try to stick with meat and veggies to lose weight because fair or not those are the rules and if you want to play that is what you'll have to do. Sorry honey I know it sucks.... :o(

i could hardly hurt somewone if i fall on them i can run only 1/3 of a pitch so that might be it
Report as
I wasn't talking about falling on them isn't there a little pushing and shoving in soccer? Either way just try to do what the coach says and keep a smile on your face. Your young so it should be pretty easy for you to get back into shape and your going to feel a lot better when you do! ;o)

im not great at running any ways i can lose weight without changing my diet and only excercise?
Report as
Maybe but it will be a slower process. I don't know what your diet is like but if you try to stay away from bread, pasta, and sweets it will make a big difference.

its relatively unhealthy. how can i run more than a 1/3 of a pitch any ways to get faster?
Report as
Once you start to lose weight you'll be able to run farther and faster. Just keep working at it and and run a little farther each day. Maybe another 15 feet. Before you know it you'll be a running machine!!!!!

Report as
Cut the sweets, bread and pasta out of your diet. If you can't jog than start off walking fast and work up to jogging

Liking food is what got you into this mess. Trust me there are more important things than changing your diet a little. Ok try this. Don't eat anything your not supposed to 6 days a week and 1 day a week allow yourself 2 things that your not supposed to eat. You are too young to be this out of shape and it will cause you problems later in life. Even now it's making you sad because you can't play soccer so don't let this happen any more. Your the boss of you!!!!!

Your just going to have to do it on your own. Do you have a dog you can walk???? if not than just ask a family member or friend to walk with you. You have to start thinking about what you can do and not what you can't do. Think about how much better your going to feel and not what your missing. You are looking at this the wrong way. Think of it as a fresh start.
