What are good ways to try and get your dog to take her pill?

My dog has to take a pill everyday because she has horrible allergies we always have the hardest time to get her to actually take it we have tried dog treats that have a special spot for pills even putting it in a hot dog or rolling it up in cheese she still will eat around it. Anyone have any more ideas we could try?

We foster a large number of dogs each year, and so far ALL of them love peanut butter when we hide a pill inside a small amount. It has gotten to the point where our own dogs scramble from different parts of the house when they hear that jar being opened! They all love it.

Hide the pill inside a hotdog after you crush it.

How about dissolving the pill in her water bowl she is going to have to drink sometime.

Depending on the size of your dog I have large dogs and I coat it with velveta cheese and they gobble it down. I also use a piece of a hot dog and stuff the pill in the center.

dip it in peanut butter or go to your local pet store and find something that helps your dog eat its pills

I have to give my dog Benadryl everyday due to allergies. I pull the capsule apart and sprinkle it over fresh chicken breast then put 1 tablespoons of gravy over it. She chomps it right down.

I use an actual dog allergy pill called atopic you can't crush it up its more of a gel/liquid pill

peanut butter..my dog loves ham. i wrap pills in that & give 2 him.

Liverwurst. Try tossing it up in the air for her to catch - they will swallow it whole that way. If she wont eat that, just take pill, open her mouth, and stick it in the back of her throat as far you can. She will instinctively swallow it.

Crush it then put it in cheese that worked for my dog... Except now he goes literally crazy when he sees cheese..

dont do anything with cheese like other ppl said cuz they lov it but it will get them diarahha and just put it in a little piece of meat.

Take the pill and put peanut butter on it and if your dog doesn't like peanut butter i don't know what else to tell you it works with my dog good luck.

Wrapping it in cheese works for my dogs. That or dipping it in peanut butter! They have never refused them since

Dip in hot cheese then when it is 75% dry, stick it in a hot dog.

put it into the dogs meal,it wouldn't notice any thing
as it consume it.
this is the best method,you just have to try and and then u can confirmed it by your self.

put the pill in cheese and or meat and put it into your dogs mouth and hold it shut untill your dog licks his mouth

if you cover the pill with peanut butter or hide it in a peanut butter sandwich the dog will usually gobble it right down with out noticing the pill

break it up in tiny pieces and put it in a can of the mushy gooey kind of dog food.that's what dogs like these days!

first you have to make chinease buffet and get a blanket with a hamster on it and then hide the pilll in the blanket hamster and put chinease food under it.

Because my dog loves to lick things, i would crush it up as much as possible and let the dog eat it out of our hand.

If your dog can eat bread, take the pill, wrap it in the bread and give it to her. We did that with my dog, it worked every time!
