1 Thessolonians 5:17- "Pray incessantly" God is the hearer of prayer. Never give up when it comes to prayer! If it seems like God is delaying in answering prayers it is not because he doesn't hear you or is not able to answer your prayer it is because He answers prayers that are accord with his will and will answer them in his due time. He allows us to 'keep on asking, seeking, and knocking.' Psalms 145:18-"Jehovah is near to all those calling upon him, to all those who call upon him in trueness." If we want our prayers to be heard by God, we must pray with humility, in faith & sincerity. (Mark 11:24)

He asked if his prayers were being answered. Not for some atheist's opinions.

Legate... This is an open site where anyone can answer. The atheist answer is no one is there to hear. If you want only religious to tell you what you already believe then go to a religious blog.

Raven, the question wasn't do you believe in God either.

God listens to your prayers; the question is are you listening for His answer.

God can and does hear your prayers.
Just think, He is so big He can hear everyone's prayers
Just because you FEEL like he's not listening means nothing. Hang on to the FACT that He IS listening. We all doubt God sometimes because we are human. But God never doubts us.

Since people imagine there is a god
you only need to imagine he hears you.

There is no such thing as God being too busy. His answers for prayers are either yes, no, or wait.

In order for God to answer our prayers, we must meet certain requirements. We need to have faith in him and demonstrate it with our actions. What we pray for needs to be in accordance with God's will and our actions should be in harmony with our prayers. Also, we need to pray in a humble, sincere and respectful manner. If we meet these requirements, God will listen to our prayers, as stated in Psalms 65:2, "O Hearer of prayer, even to you people of all flesh with come."

Sometimes when it seems God doesn't answer prayers it's because he's got something better- in His time. Learning to trust in God's to

God himself admitted in bible that he doesn't listen all. Read: PS 10:1 "God cannot be found in time of need. He is "far off" (but again, we are told this god's OMNIPOTENT!!)

What scripture is before and after that particular verse pious?
Report as
Here is part of it. You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry
Report as
Does that make the verse that I quoted void? Shouldn't every word of supposed god's word stand the test of truth?
Report as
Every word of God. Do you take part of a book and read it, but not the beginning or end? Why does Ps 10:1 say what it does, what is going on there? Have you ever met Abraham Lincoln? How do you know about him? Did you read about him in a book? Or do you just believe he was real because you were taught he was?
Report as
Because there are abundant proof of AL's existence. However, what does that have to do with the present debate? If bible is god's words, every single word of it should speak for itself as truth, that's the question.

I was just reading today that God hears you, and helps you, if you don't tire of asking Him. Remember, God will have an answer, but in His timing, not ours. This is where faith comes in. Believe it is answered even as you pray. It may not be the answer you want or think you need, but He knows what is best for us :)
