USB extenders are devices that are used to lengthen the meters of a standard USB cable that measures 5 meters. The USB extenders can lengthen its useful protocol up to 100 meters. A USB extender is basically a USB port that forks off into many other USB ports. So if you plug the extender in, you'll have additional USB port.
