What is the reason behind infants baptism?

Dooes the bible allow it or is it because of money?

Report as

Jesus set the example for a lot of different things. Concerning baptism: He was not baptized at birth, but when he was 30 years old. Why? Because we should, according to many Bible texts like Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 2:14,22,38,41, first 'hear the word', 'embrace the word heartily', and after 'repenting' we must proceed to water baptism. When we get baptised we must make a decision to dedicate our lives to God. In order to make such a decision, we must have sufficient age to hear, believe and make the decision. Can a baby do any of these?

Kraskaka: What to purify a child? Mat 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Its because baptising allows jesus to come into you, its like cleansing your soul, you can be baptized at any age but you arent a complete christian or hebrew until you are baptized, its definently not for money, and cathlics encourage being baptized as a young child

It is because most of them ( who baptized a child or babes ) do not rightly devided the word of God in the bible 1 John 4:1 ; John 8:47

It emulates the dedication rights of the Old Testament at birth by using the Christian symbol of cleansing with water. I am not familiar with any institution charging people money to perform baptism.

I'm very familiar with his "questions" intended to promote the Church of God as the exclusive true Church. I answer accordingly to show that the Church is catholic (universal), not any sect that claims exclusivity, neither the Church of God nor the Roman Catholic Church.
Report as
That's funny. I answered basically the same.. I told him to study "systematic theology" for beginners to learn the "true" definition of what "the church" meant. It's sad to watch people use there presuppositions and Pre-commitments to read there own meaning into the text of scripture.
There in error before they even begin the journey. :-/
Report as
Ah, we all do it. It's impossible not to shed all presuppositions, because we don't even know we have many of them.

thespang: We are challenging you in a public debate. okay? Our topic: What is the True Church is it the catholic church or The Church of God in the bible? oh by the way you can ask help even from your pope. okay?

Report as
This isn't a forum for debate. This is a forum for asking questions and providing answers. Neither the Church of God nor the Catholic Church are very faithful as a called out people, as they both view the world through lenses of exclusion rather than embrace. Such a view is anti-Biblical, not simply non-Biblical.

well I think that, a child should wait until he/she is old enough to know what's going on... Because if he/she doesn't, the child could be "baptized" and then grow up to be a devil child. That's what I think.

--IS IT BIBLICAL TO BAPTIZE A INFANT?

3.--today you ask this question

-- WHAT ARE THE REASONS BEHIND INFANT BAPTISM?

-- so my question to you is, How am I a false prophet ;) lol

I don't think he is "all there." You can't blame him for that.

I see the "Who all loves Christ" question was removed. If you didn't see my reply to you, I'm not Jewish, but I do take your assumption that I am as a compliment. I simply prefer to interpret Christianity through the lens of Jesus' Jewish audience rather than Paul's Hellenistic audience. The Torah remains the central foundation of the entire Bible, with Christ as the chief cornerstone of the Torah. Jesus is thus is Christianity, with Paul being "Christianity applied," in the same way that the Writings were the Torah applied.

Yes, I was looking for that question ..
I responded to you and said "" lol that is refreshing to here.. At first glance it seemed you tip toed in your wording very carefully... That's quite neat to hear you say that...
Why in the world would they remove that question?
Report as
Because it was social. Despite how we treat it, Ask continues to distance themselves from being a social site and maintains the policy that questions should be looking for verifiable information, though they'll extend it to supported opinions, as long as it's not asking for a yes/no answer. Fortunately my app still had it up, so I could just now screenshot my answer, because I couldn't word it as well later :)

What is the biblical meaning of "false prophet? 1Jn 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many" false prophets "are gone out into the world.
Report as
Now who is False prophet? Isa 56:11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are" shepherds that cannot understand": they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

Now let us continue as the bible said, who is false prophet? (ERV) Certainly not those who are out there selling God's message for a profit! But we don't do that. With Christ's help we speak God's truth honestly, knowing that we must answer to him. now
Report as
now if we go back to part of my question "does the bible allow it or it is for money? you know why? Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. SEE!!!

-- I ask you why ? And you tell me this jibberish...
Please make sense... Im tired.

Thespang: the bible itself is an expositions of all false doctrines. agree? example:Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

False prophet, according to Deuteronomy, is one whose words of impending destruction do not come about. By implication of Jeremiah regarding Hannaniah, this can also be one who preaches that all is well when in reality it's not.

8 years old is the age of accountability. Then they are old enough to know right from wrong and Can decide to take upon themselves the name of Christ. Before that they are already pure and innocent. Sometimes they don't act like it but they are not accountable before the Lord. Therefore if a child dies before the age of 8 they are saved. They don't need baptizing at birth.

People who are charging money for baptizing a child are greedy pastors: 1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Preachers and Priest who ask for a fee are likened into "dogs" according to the prophet. Isa 56:11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

the Catholic made this up. no where in the Bible does it say baptism for babies. there's no reason. how could you purify someone that's already pure? and to make matters worse, they sprinkle water they claim is holy. your not suppose to sprinkle to Baptise, you have to be submerged under water.

I agree with the spang. You seem to have a "bone" to pick about Catholicism,
I looked at your questions to, this is the third time you've asked. also on a different note, youve picked a "bone" on the definition of the church, which spang attempted
to straighten you out on. I suggest you read more and ask less. the same way I suggest , when you leap from an airplane, I "suggest" you pull the rip cord :)
