Fake...but they can get "real" injuries and sometime die at ringside. They are still great "athletes" and damn good "actors" though.

It's very real. You have real people, usually abnormally large, in a real ring, throwing themselves on to other real people. The danger is quite real, it is very easy to rip tendons, ligaments & muscles to shreds. Concussions & broken bones are a daily risk, so in that aspect it is very real. Are the fights real & all that goes into it with the background stories & the hatred of 1 another real, no. It is what it is, entertainment, pure & simple. Just like all of the reality shows, they're all fake, but they're entertaining. That's what sells & makes the $, and that is what it is all about
