Is fishing for red snapper in Florida illegal?

Fishing for red snapper in Florida is not presently illegal though there has been a proposal to ban it completely. This proposed ban is due to what Scientists have said is a rapidly dwindling red snapper population from decades of overfishing.

No. But there are certain regulations as to how many you can catch, and the lengths in which they can be kept.
