What is the difference between granulated sugar and "super fine" sugar?

I have a recipe that calls for "super fine" sugar. Can I just use granulated sugar?

"Superfine" sugar is the same thing as granulated sugar--it's just ground up into even smaller granules, so it will dissolve faster. You can usually substitute granulated sugar for super fine sugar with no problem. Or, if you want to make your own superfine sugar, just put granulated sugar in a food processor or blender and grind it up a little bit before you measure it out.
