I can't get a straight answer to this, is it legal for me to play a youtube music video on my Facebook page

If it is not, why in the world do they provide a "share" button to play it on Facebook, email and the like.

With the share button of a YouTube video, you can post the video on Facebook which is legal. This is according to the terms and conditions of YouTube. However, the terms equally deny someone to post the same video on a commercial website, if it has not been bought.

If you are sharing it, I would think it is fine.

Just because someone lets you do something, does not make it legal. How was that for another non answer? Go ahead and share it, its on utube so they could access it direct. I do not see a problem.
