What's the future for paper-books?

With all the technologies, and e-readers now a days, what is to come of paper books? Text books? Reading at it's best?

Less and less people read all the time due to laziness. I figure this plays a major part in the declining intelligence of our society.

Nearly everyone is switching to ebooks. They take up less space and are cheaper. I am guessing in time books will be phased out like VHS tapes were.

I personally love reading a real book. I want to physically turn the pages and see what I bought and display my books. I love reading and I never want to own virtual books.

I love reading too. And an E-Book reader doesn't cut it for me! Part of the thing about a good book, is the adventure it takes to find it. And I'm the freak in the book store, sniffing books. HAHA.

I don't know !! But for me..I still prefer paper books on all of that..I don't know why ! maybe because I got used on reading from the paper books, maybe because I enjoy them more or because of that feeling of turning the paper backward and forward with your fingers and fold the upper corner of the page where you stopped ! And I enjoy going to the book store searching for an interesting book to read..opening the first or last page of several books in order to pick one book at the end !
I am following the old type school of reading ... :)

I think after about 50 years there'll be no more paper books. and then my grandchildren may wonder knowing that once people would use paper books!

There's nothing like pulling an old book from your bookshelf that you haven't read for many years, the look of the cover, feeling the weight of the book and when you open it to read, the musty smell of the pages. As soon as you start to read, you remember the words, sit back, curl up and read. It's kinda like seeing an old friend.

I love reading and I read from paper-books. I agree that there are less people using paper-books now, but I think there will always be people out there who love reading and read from paper-books. I certainly hope so.
