Animals are amazing in that tho they have almost no memory for some things, they have like forever memories for others. Usually memory for pack - in your case flock - or other family memories seem to be strong. You are their flock leader. The top of the pecking order. I have no doubt theyll remember. There was a video i saw on TV. It was a border collie. The dad of the family was in the military and deployed for well over a year. The mom said later that shed had unusual behavior problems with the dog the whole time her husband was gone. The video showed him arriving at his home the first time after his deployment. They let the dog out to greet him. That dog went nuts!!! It was so excited to see its 'daddy' - really its pack alpha in dog terms - that it sounded almost as if it were screaming or crying or both and just jumping and wiggling an SO excited and happy. There are plenty of stories of animals, dogs especially, dying from grief when owners die before them. Animals definately remember. Ive never had a pet bird so i dont know how attached they get to humans but cockatiels are supposed to be fairly intelligent for birds.
The pet cockatiels might remember you. It's common for pets to remember their owners even after being away for a period of time. One sign that a pet remembers their owner is the show of excitement after the owner arrives after having been away for several months. It's important that you leave the pets in good hands preferably in the hands of an animal lover.
do not leave them in good hands they might forget you :) an evil hand might work because they will always think about their first owner like "oh we used to have a caring owner before and now this !!! this person is cruel to the heart,a tyrant brutal " and in this way they will remember you and will never forget you I am damn sure..:)
