Which is a better pet - cat or dog?

i was thinking of which to buy

Don't buy either one, adopt one from a shelter. If you want something around to pet occasionally and make it go away when you don't, get a cat. If you want something that will bond with you openly and show great enthusiasm for you, get a dog. Simple!

Cats bond tremendously and they show great enthusiasm for you too. We've adopted 4 cats in the last 7 years and they have really bonded with us.

I have two cats also and they are wonderful pets, but they cannot compare to dogs when it comes to lapsitting on demand, face licking, or excitement upon arrival at home, they will never be accused of trying to protect me from the rest of the world. I would never say cats can't be warm and loving companions, but they are...well...cats.

They are both good pets but I would say dogs! :)

Cats you can leave and go on vacation for a few days dogs you have to bring to a kennel or something their like children always make sure their safe, bring them potty all hours of the day/night, cats don't have this problem

Cats aren't as needy as dogs. Cats don't have to be walked, they bury their feces, and they purr. Dogs are loud (no matter their size), and they slobber.
