Turn it in. Without thinking:)
Hypothetically I wouldn't dig through anyone else's purse but desperate times call for desperate measures
Turn it in Mabey you'll get lucky atleast you won't have guilt and bad karma
Take it to the police. If no one claims it within 30 days they turn it back to you. The police will know how to make sure the person can identify the purse itself too!
Make sure my family is fed.
I believe I would keep it, and I believe given the conditions you laid out in your question, I would NOT feel the least bit guilty about it. If I felt magnanimous enough, I MIGHT turn the purse in to the lost and found at Wal-Mart (sans the $100 bucks though) because there could possibly be an object of sentimental value in the purse or valuable for some other reason to the owner but not to me. I once found a wallet with $1200 in cash and I was given a sufficient guilt trip to return the entire amount to the rightful owner, sometimes I DO curse myself for NOT keeping the cash, especially since I have had lost wallets returned to me, minus the cash. As a rule though, I hardly EVER carry more than $150 in cash in my wallet. (Just for the very reason I might lose it.)
I'm a flawed person, but I strongly believe in the golden rule. Sometimes I don't always practice it though, not 100% honest all the time, but wallets and card is a pretty huge wrong to do to someone.
Turn it in because if I lost my wallet and money, I'd want someone to turn it in.
I would turn it in, besides theres cameras. But It sounds pretty fishy to me. Its probably a trap by undercover cops. Instead of bait car it would be bait purse lol. :)
Give it to the shop where you found it and live on. If you have the motivation to provide for you're family you don't need that small amount of cash
take it without thinking if I can't put food on the table.I'm going to be doing a lot more of "finding" money. trust me when I say you don't think about it when your stomach is growling.
Loose cash alone has no way to associate it with an individual.
I would turn the purse into Walmart's and leave my name and address. What if that purse belonged to some very poor little old lady that would not be able to buy her prescriptions if she didn't have that money. That money wouldn't make me any richer, and my heart would be a lot poorer.
turn it in cuz Karma can be a bitch. I have been on both sides and really, really needed the cash I lost. I gave a reward for honesty.
I would go look for the owner, honestly. I'm not a perfect person, and I don't always do the right thing, but no matter my circumstances, no matter how tempting, I could not find it in me to do something like that. That is one thing I know I would not do, and am pleased to say I wouldn't, because I could put myself in that person's shoes: what if the situation were reversed: imagine how devastated I would be. It also certainly would not be a Christian or Christ like thing to do. I would not be able to do that without feeling guilty- God is always watching.
~ Shaylen I hope you've been having a wonderful summer.
This DID happen to me. I went grocery shopping at 7am once and as I pulled into the slot I saw a cart with a purse in it where the baby sits. No one was around. I didn't even think twice. I got the purse and brought it straight in the Wal-Mart. Inside was an hysterical woman older than me saying she lost her purse and no one working there was helping her. She saw me come in with it and she couldn't speak. Then she asked where I found it and I told her. She said there were 2 round trip tickets to London and FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS in it and that's why she wS so hysterical. I said,"Well I'm glad I found it before anyone else did" and went on shopping . She said she had bought some items for her trip and out them in her car but she couldn't find her purse after she out the items in her car. But she had been rattled by the trip and just didn't see I because it was right there in the cart. I never even looked in it before I brought it in. I just knew what was right. She said she had saved for years for that vacation. No she didn't offer a reward. And I wouldn't have taken one. I even forgot about it until this question.
happy 3-day :)
I ll keep the money.....and sell the purse if its in a good condition to be sold.....
I ll go through the crap and try and find the owner....if i ll get her details...i ll deliver them to her telling I found those papers on road and thought it might be important and ask for a reward from her
Yes I am without character
Its all in different situation that we react differently...against our will
if everybody around is good and if i am the only one bad.....
then i am wrong
if everyone around me is bad and if i am the only one good...
then i am wrong
anyways there is a situation....may be if I have a job and my kids doing fine then i ll search for the owner to return...
Then what kind of person am I??
just be hungry for two days u will knw
like the lady in the situation lost her purse
who ever finds it is the new owner....
yes its ethical to return as I ll also do the same provided i am doing just good with my career
Provided the situation...i ll have to keep it
And I dont call it selfish too
thats just something u are forced to
Secondly according to my answer....the documents were returned....i guess that more important for the owner.....u will see the relief there too
secondly asking for reward depends upon financial status of other
lastly I will work hours to return the money back in future provided I knw the owner :)
LASTLY it was great talking to both of u
It's not "judging" unless you're making a statement as to what punishment someone should get. But just expressing an opinion isn't "judging".
Maybe in the original question, the person is unemployed due to a previous transgression. Any further acts of poor character, may result in further negative events.
Say Thank you Jesus and look for more -- No id - no return and put it to good use or hire 20 working girls ......... ( Not ---- maybe -- )
It depends.....no ID I may keep it..ID I would call them and/or turn it in... I found these items before and track down the owners...
As an empathetic atheist and decent human being I would never take or keep something that's not mine.
I feel a lot of respect for you and the effort you put into your beliefs and consider you a friend.
As I'm sure you do too.
Anyway that aside thanks:) (I don't know that I'm making sense, it's so loud in here I can't hear myself think!)
Great question: asked in ethics, philosophy, and even law school classes. It's a test for moral structure and adherence to the social contract between humans. Ideally we'd turn it over to authorities we can trust - and /or post a photo on the lost and found board - wait for a call - ask the caller how much is in the bag to verify it's their's. This answer is considered the answer of highly ethical and people of high moral character - they are capable of empathy with the person that lost the purse and money.
the next chapter is "its simple but not easy".. life stuff.. goes together.. goes with this question
hey Sincerity.. hows you too.. great 3-day girl
Turn it in of course. Been there done that. I can and will find any honest way to take care of my family. We have nothing if we don't have self respect
that temptation dear and you should not fall to it just go and look for the owner you can do it may be by announcing and if no one shows up then you can take the money it can be GOD plan for you to have it remember GOD will never leave you alone in the time of need.
I learned at a very early age, that if I don't say and do the right thing, Karma will severely punish me. If for some reason I should not tell the truth, I choose my words very carefully. I don't like BAD Karma. I think GOOD Karma is waiting to repay me in one lump sum.
Ive lost my wallet more times than I would like to admit, and each time it was returned to the store, money untouched. I would definitely turn it in.
and i bet.. the identity piece is the hardest part...
keep the hugs comin girl
WITHOUT ID, I leave my contact with Walmart. When someone( the owner) can describe the wallet and contents, it's theirs.
I've handed in money before and learned the person you hand it over to isn't always honest.
ID, no question, I personally contact the person.
( it's all how you're raised, am I right? ; )
i actually watched someone "steel" money from me.. had left my wallet (like i usually do) laying around in the club/locker area... came out of the Jacuzzi/ice bath and watched someone ponder whether to take the wallet or not. they looked inside.. took some cash (not all) and left the wallet. had he taken the wallet i would have stopped him. was happy to lose the coin (it is only $). figured he needed it more than me and i was also just glad i wasnt the one that needed it that much, or would be one to steel (he was dressed in a way that suggested that he probably wasnt supposed to be in the tournament player area).
as for me? ive found money here and there.. if it was associated with a situation (like a purse or other).. i would def attempt to find the owner and go to the store peeps to help me.
my "worth" is more than money.
i was watching to see if my cards/id was taken is all
i have given money to peeps in need in other ways...
wanted to stop him and take him to coffee.. talk with him.. and then give him the money.. didnt have the time.. hate time sometimes.. more of it these days
thanks Bubs.. you are too sweet.. no really TOO sweet.. snag a piece of candy and let your hair down.. ty Bubs :)
i found a guys wallet in the LAS airport in DEC.. long story.. finally found him ON MY OWN.. (cause he wouldnt answer the page).. looked at me.. and (no emotion or thanks).. said "where's the cash".. (i found it in a stall and it had maybe 15 credit cards and all the id).. i asked how much was missing.. he said $80.. so i paid him
I think a lot of times people are do overcome they neglect to say thank you, so surprised they just take it and go off
I don't think I could take it. I'd probably turn it in to someone. I mean, karma!
Turn it in.
hey there
Hope you two have a good Friday:()
