Viola or Cello?

So I picked Orchestra for my elective this year and once I came to pick my instrument, all the violins were taken! That left violas, cellos, and basses. I obviously couldn't play double bass! It was toooo big. Truly I had my heart set on violin, but the cello was pretty cool. I picked out a cello and my mom told me before that violas didn't get much parts, but later on the way home she started yelling at me for picking cello. She then said that violas got more parts and I'm just like -.- the whole time. I really want to play cello, but I can change it to viola before September 5th. Should I stay with cello or go with my mom's choice? :( Thanks! :)))

my first pick would be violin.. but since you can't choose that .. my second would be Cello... I may be a shy type but Cello

If you want to play cello then play cello. It's up to you, I mean your moms not the one playing it.
