What are the food restrictions with braces?

I am getting braces soon, and I am trying to get as much information about them as I can.

Just don't eat caramel or any other chewy candies, but other than that, eat whatever you want! (that's not what the orthdontist will tell you, but you don't really need to listen to them...) I have them and I eat whatever I want except chewy candy, and I'm fine

I think no crunchy foods like chips but i have nice teeth so i dont need braces so i have no idea about them

When I first got braces, they were really sore for a while. So I would stick to soft foods for the first few days. And you don't really want to eat anything that may break off a bracket. But I'm pretty sure your orthodontist will go over it with you.

I have braces top and bottom and I eat whatever I want. What sucks is that 20% of your meal ends up in your braces. :/

I have braces and ur not suppose to eat cold food like ice cream(I did and nothing went wrong) stay away from sticky food such as carmel and gum and your not suppose to eat corn on the cob. they usually give u a list of things u can and can't eat or chew on

No gum, caramel, taffy, or gummies. It's soooo hard to get them out of your braces.

No gum. No chewing on hard candy. No gummies. No biting soda tabs. No hard, crunchy things. I basically broke all the rules >:) haha

I would follow the rules a tiny bit only because if the foods u eat damage the braces it slows the process down therefore leaving you a brace face for longer. I would know :/ haha

I have mine for 5 years and I eat everything! The doctor tell me nothing about damage.
