I used to care for many species of snakes as well as other native reptiles and amphibians at our state science center. Snakes have an anatomy that is similar to ours in a lot of ways. Their organs are in a straight line inside their bodies instead of side by side like ours. Obviously they don't have the arm and legs but they also don't have a clavicle and pelvis to restrict their movement either. This is what allows them to move so quickly and easily. They do still have a rib cage like ours and a spine too.
