How old are dogs when they start humping things?

My 3 month old puppy is humping everything now. It seems a little young to me for him to start

Puppies will do this as young as 6 wks, it is a play/dominance move by both sexes, not hormones. Interrupt the behavior immediately with a consequence like stopping play or putting the dog into an enforced down.
