Why should restaurants with large windows be forced to operate their lights in the daylight hours not conserving energy?

McDonald's charges 2$2.36 total for sausage biscuit and small coffee. How much goes to paying utilities?

Well, I'm guessing since they are trying to make a profit that they have more knowledge about what works for them than you do. It just might be that if they turn off all their lights nobody will think they are open and the effective amount of revenue collected for each sausage biscuit and small coffee will be zero.
